Pao started when a few old friends realized the need to be able to supply bread to people in need to change the world. Our story begins on the streets of Paris where the baguette’s scents stream through the streets, awakening anyone who inhale their aroma. Two friends met at the steps of the old Bastille and started envisioning and imaging new ideas for very old troubles.
How can the world be made a better place? Through individuals making seemingly insignificant contributions in everyday life, people are supported – and that’s what matters. When you give someone bread, you give them more than just a meal – its hope for a better world.
Centered on supporting healthy communities, our approach relies on individual organizations coming together and working synchronously. Our unique approach to addressing hunger, sustainability and other larger issues allow for existing infrastructure in our modern cities and communities to be utilized more efficiently – allowing us to pay partner organizations to give away bread in their community daily. Bakeries of all kinds are invited to participate, (simply send us a message to let us know you want more information to get started). Focusing on one simple goal, supplying local bread to anyone who wants it, we work daily to spread culture and build community.

We rely on support from anyone who wants our mission to succeed – even the smallest amount helps provide the difference in someone’s life each day. By organizing communities centered around local bakeries and providing free resources for people in need, our goal is to be able to do the most good through direct action.
