No matter where on earth you are, you’re surrounded by culture. This is the most important recipe you will ever read – it will change your life forever.

What you’ll need:

  • One Glass Jar & Lid
  • 10lbs Flour
  • About a Month

Culture is the mother earth, which we all are a part of. Take your jar and put some filtered water and flour in it and mix it up. Use equal weights, not too runny, not too dry. Let it sit for a day – lid open.

Day two, just stir. If it forms a liquid on top, add a tiny-bit of flour and mix it up.

Day three, look for sings of bubbly life. It will be gross and inedible soon, so it’s time for another full feeding to keep it bubbling (1 part water / 1 part flour). But maybe yours is still not showing signs of life? keep trying!

After about a week of feeding and fooling around, you’ll get a beast that only you know. As you feed it, it will feed you. This is your yeast, your very own culture. You’re surrounded by culture. When it is too big for your jar, make pancakes by pouring half out. Then, keep it fed and use it to grow breads.
